Day 2 of Convention!

Second day being a Student Intern for Convention in Seven Springs, PA. Started off the day at 5:45am and got ready for the day. Went down to the Grand Ball Room where F.I.T Club and I would be presenting at 6:30am and set-up all of the equipment. We started the presentation at 7:30am and everything went very smooth. I began with a aerobic fitness warm-up, we then moved on to a fitness game ran by Joe, then a cross-fit work-out ran by Yevonne, then a fitness race ran by Drew, and finally I finished up with an ab work-out and a cool down.  I'm so happy I was able to present and be apart of this amazing group of individuals. At 9:00am I had the honor of listening to Lou Slaughtterback the key note speaker. At 10:30am I was finally able to eat a delicious breakfast before working the Registration Table. At 12:00pm I set up for the awards lunch-in and handed out pamphlets to the incoming professionals. At 12:30pm, I ate lunch at the awards lunch-in and conversed with some peers. At 1:30pm I went to The Be Active...Get Moving...Heart Healthy Activities Session. It was a great session with several ideas on how to incorporate different activities into an Elementary School Setting. At 3:00pm I once again worked the Registration Table and helped set-up exhibits. At 5:00pm I had a student social, where I had pizza. The social consisted of Electing a new Vice-President for the board as well as conversing with your peers. The rest of my night has been relaxing with professors, peers, and other professionals within the Physical and Health Education aspect. This second day has been smooth and fantastic! I can't wait for tomorrow and I hope it goes just as well.

  1. I was very pleased with how smoothly the F.I.T. Club workout went and it was a great way to start the day. However, Mr. Slaughterback definitely was the highlight of the day! He was so inspirational and I hope to inspire half as many people as he has. I got to attend Battling Obesity Across the Commonwealth and Develop a Fitness Center When You Have No Budget, No Space, and No Support. They were good sessions with some valuable information!

  2. Mr. Slaughterback was my favorite part of the day as well! He was so good at motivating everyone and getting people excited about convention and why we were all there. He has inspired so many people in his life and that is amazing to me. The sessions I went to were very informational and inspiring. Being able to talk to the presenters afterwards about their experiences was great also.

  4. Shaina, you did a great job with your warm up, ab workout, and cool down! You must have spent a long time planning such an intricate workout. The warm-up you did that involved the dancing was fun and got me limbered up. The FIT Club workout was awesome in whole, thanks to you and everyone in the club. I'm excited to see what we end up doing next year

  5. We could not have done the F.I.T. Club Workout without you! I was incredibly impressed with your warm up and cool down and enjoyed them a lot. You are going to be such a great teacher and you should definitely get your group fitness certificate, you would be great at it! Thank you for all the help and doing such a wonderful job. So glad that I got to spend the weekend with you!
